Christian wisdom quotes
1) “To be a Christian without prayer is no more possible than to be alive without breathing.”
-Martin Luther
Prayer is about becoming in harmony with God through asking for God of what we dearly want. It involves praise, adoration, thanksgiving, confession, and lament, and if only one is missing, then we are not to be in the ready stance of prayer. Just like living isn't only about breathing, the same goes for prayer. Life isn't about how many breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away. Therefore, prayer is all about building an intimate relationship with God.
2) “The Christian Bible is a symbolic (idea, feeling, or quality rather than just its literal meaning) book, not a literal one. The one Christians know as Jesus was actually a symbol for the sun. Ancient sun worshippers believed the sun died at the end of the winter solstice and then three days later it would be reborn at the start of its cycle - December 25.”
-David Icke
The Christian Bible is a symbolic book, in the sense that it is about idea, feeling, or quality rather than just its literal meaning. It is why the book cover is made out of leather and is the best selling book worldwide. Before Jesus was born and crucified on he cross the sun symbolized God, and through the voice of God the Bible was written by Jesus' disciples. God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are one in trinity. It isn't about understanding how this is possible but it is about firm belief, for, that's the core of Christianity. To say that Ancient sun worshippers believed the sun died at the end of the winter solstice and then three days later it would be reborn at the start of its cycle it is to say that Jesus died on the cross for our sins, and three days He resurrected from the dead and risen of Heaven on December 25th, which is Jesus' birthday.
3) “I'm a Christian, but I don't believe in religion or anything like that.”
-Vanilla Ice
Christianity is not a religion, for, it is the ultimate true way of life. This is how it differs from all other religions of all kinds. Many nonbelievers believe Christianity to be just another religion, because it is just another perspective of who and what God is to them, but to Christianity Christianity serves the one and only God, and He really exists. We can know of God's existence through how we live our life and we serve and praise Him through our way of life. Therefore Christianity and life isn't a separate thing, but it is one in harmony.
4) “A Christian reveals true humility by showing the gentleness of Christ, by being always ready to help others, by speaking kind words and performing unselfish acts, which elevate and ennoble the most sacred message that has come to our world.”
-Ellen G. White
When Christian missionaries go out on a mission to spread the word of God to the world, it is very common that they get stepped on by the people of the world. This is because the unsaved see Christians in the scope of how the world sees people, in which is the scope of the psychological warfare. Christians are seeing people through the scope of spiritual warfare, in which when it collides, it is all about which scope people see each other. When the people of the world sees a Christian always ready to help others, by speaking kind words and performing unselfish acts, they see someone who is trying to manipulate for the greater good. But, the way Christians see it to be is that it is what God wants, and therefore it is His command to be so. Christianity is to be naive like a sheep while the world sees life to be all about the dominant ones, for, the naive ones are he ones to be stepped on all the time in the very end.
5) “I did once seriously think of embracing the Christian faith. The gentle figure of Christ, so full of forgiveness that he taught his followers not to retaliate (to do something harmful or bad to someone because they did something harmful or bad to you first) when abused or struck, but to turn the other cheek - I thought it was a beautiful example of the perfect man.”
-Mahatma Gandhi
When we see the way Jesus revealed Himself to the people of the world, at first we may believe that this is what really makes a upper being whether it goes for men or women. But, when we live that life we feel pathetic for doing so. When we get stepped on by the world, other people too will see us to be a weak one and step on us too, out of the perspective of how human beings as a whole are. The way people see us is to be someone to take advantage over and because people take advantage over the ones who do them good all the time, the people of the world will not see any wrongness in what they do, for, the worl d is the way it is for what it is. The beautiful example of the perfect man or woman therefore would be to only please God, and not the people of the world.
6) “The Christian life is not a constant high. I have my moments of deep discouragement. I have to go to God in prayer with tears in my eyes, and say, 'O God, forgive me,' or 'Help me.'”
-Billy Graham
To say that Christian life is not a constant high is to say that it isn't only about feeling good, for there are many times in life when we endure hardships and trials and we must overcome it not alone, but with Jesus holding our hand. To have no hardships in life is to have it easy whereas in trials in life our symbolizes us overcoming it through God's help. God doesn't just take us out of our misery but He wants to go through it with us together. Even if we are saved, we will always sin and therefore, we must come before God to make things right. God must cover His eyes to no longer see us as a sinner once we are saved, when in actuality we are sinners by nature and sinners for life. If God doesn't cover His eyes, not a single soul will be righteous enough to be able to enter the kingdom of God after leaving this world.
7) “When you call yourself an Indian or a Muslim or a Christian or a European or anything else, you are being violent. Do you see why it is violent? Because you are separating yourself from the rest of mankind. When you separate yourself by belief, by nationality, by tradition, it breeds violence.”
-Jiddu Krishnamurti
To see Christianity to be a better being than the rest of the world is not Biblical. It makes the rest of the world as if it is some kind of competition. Christianity is all always living in accordance to God's commands and it isn't God command to consider ourself to be better than anyone else. We must live our life as an example, in order for the people of the world to want to become a Christian too. Therefore, this is how separating ourself by belief, by nationality, by tradition, it breeds violence. Competition starts out as something small, but in the end, the violence is a definite part of it and it becomes something big of a matter later on.
8) A real Christian is a person who can give his pet parrot to the town gossip.
-Billy Graham
Gossips happen because of the unfairness of the world, and it seems to make things right for how the world is, but, in actuality it only stirs up a continuous issue amongst human beings. We only say good things to our pet parrot for saying anything negative to our pet will only make a big image of ourself. In order to give our pet parrot to the town gossip we must understand why gossips happen, and that it happens to everybody else as well, and forgiving the world is what God wants even though it seems that we should gossip about the world as well, because of the unfairness of the world. This is what makes up to be a real Christian by living the life of a Christian rather than just by words.
9) “I'm a Jewish born-again Christian.”
-Stephen Baldwin
Jews and Christians both share roots in the Hebrew Bible and a commitment to one God and differ on the belief of the identity of Jesus, the nature of divinity, and the path to salvation. Since there are so many religions in this world and all of them become believable if we lean our ears into it, Christianity may seem to be wrong. However, in the end of it all, Christianity can be proven to be right through the happenings in the way of life. Christianity is all about believing in the Biblical scripture for what it is while other religions are all based on perspectives. Once we know that perspectives are merely perspectives and the Christian word of God is what comes to light at the end of it all the rest of humanity can become saved Christians as well. To believe in the same root in the Hebrew Bible is a stepping stone to become a Christian, even as a Jew, in which it takes the happenings in our life and the choice we make to become a Christian or not.
10) “I reflected much on that vain (being too proud of your own looks, abilities, or worth (conceited), or failing to get a result (useless or unsuccessful)) desire, which had pursued me for so many years, of being in solitude in order to be a Christian. I have now, thought I, solitude enough; but am I therefore the nearer being a Christian? Not if Jesus Christ be the model of Christianity.”
-John Wesley
We must love ourself, in order to love others is a widely known saying. But the question is how do we put others first and us last when this is so ? If we love ourself, we must be able to kill ourself to put others first. As a Christian to put others first and kill ourself is believable to not love oneself. When we see the outter appearance of Jesus when He lived in our world it seems as if He was praising Himself when He expressed Himself to the people of the world. However, if we copy His appearance, we end up failing, while if we just are naive enough to copy His appearance without a perspective of thought we can achieve the same result. To only see the outter appearance of Jesus shows of how little we know of Jesus, while to be able to be naive enough to just follow in accordance shows how much we understand Christianity. Therefore, Christianity isn't about how much we understand the Bible, but it is about just merely believing in it to be right and living in accordance to the scriptures.
